Tree painting projects – Watercolour

Many painters would love to be able to capture woodland scenes which capure the peaceful and charming atmosphere of a wood. But trees can be tricky to paint in watercolour. So for artists put off painting this subject until they feel more confident in their skill level this is why Jason has created ‘Tree painting projects – watercolour’ so, painters can build up their skills and understanding of tree painting, step by step. By breaking down tree painting methods into simple to follow methods which will built up your confidence, you will soon be painting along with Jason projects that show you how to make pictures that have believability, including woodland.

Painting trees has been one of Jason’s obsessions throughout his painting career. He has painted everything from victorian style woodlands to abstract trees. In that time he has found a multitude of tricks that can help any painter improve their rendering of trees.

This course looks specifically at the key skills that upgrade the look of your tree painting and helps lift your work to the next level.

Medium

Jason will be drawing with pencil and painting with watercolour, but if you are a painter who uses acrylics and gouache you are welcome to join the class because many of the skiils shown could be used with these mediums too.

Why does Jason think this course would be of value to you as a painter ?

Trees are wonderful fun to paint once you have mastered the basics. Why? Because they are adaptable. You don’t always have to directly copy your reference material, you can chop and change elements and still create believable tree forms. They can look playful and magical, dark and ominouse, etherial or brittle. Trees have many characters and can set the mood or dramatize a picture. By gaining confidence in your tree painting you open up a whole new world of picture making, where the thing you dreaded painting in the past becomes the most creative and fun element in your art. .
